Who are academic counsellors and how they help you to choose the right college and right career for you?
Students are in a constant state of physical, mental, and emotional growth. Counsellors help them navigate through these confusing times. Leveraging their understanding of human development stages, counsellors may help design academic programs and projects that complement a student’s individual behaviour patterns and interests. An academic counsellor is a counsellor at a college or university who helps students make educational and career decisions. For underclassman, they may provide advice on course selections, choosing a major and taking advantage of opportunities like study abroad and extracurricular activities. They can help students identify and nurture specific strengths and interests. They can also help correct weaknesses that can persist later in life, such as poor time management or a lack of organization. Counsellors often collaborate with students to develop plans for achieving specific academic and career goal. Counsellors make a difference in the lives of young people on a more personal level compared with many other education professionals.
How to choose an appropriate career after plus two?
You do not want to be sitting in a cubicle, hating your job, and just counting your days, knowing that you have made a huge mistake career-wise. You would not believe the number of people who realize too late that they have chosen the wrong career path. And the process starts from class 10th itself. It is important to figure out what YOU are good at. Not your friends, nor your parents or your relatives. You should not come under pressure to choose a certain stream or career just because your family or your friends said so. You need to do what you are good at. And you will only find that out once you know your strengths. It is imperative that you keep your options open and have at least more than three options for your future career. There is no need to choose careers that you know you have no interest in just for the sake of it. Instead, you should draw up a list of careers that you would like to pursue and figure out which stream would give you the adequate tools and knowledge to lead you to your goal. Your options are endless, even if you do not fare so well in your board exams. It is not hard to make a career if you know your areas of interest. Keep the following things in mind when trying to figure out what to do.

10 Reasons why admission through an educational consultant is best when compared to direct admission procedure?
When applying for college or university it is always a good idea to get admission through an educational consultant rather than going through with direct admission without knowing anything about what you’re getting yourself into, here are a few reasons why. Choosing the right career or college should be of great importance to any student/graduate. With students who are interested in more than one field and students who are not aware of the various paths available to them, approaching an educational consultant will be the best thing to do! Educational consulting sessions help an individual to analyse their interests, abilities, and skills and help students to locate career or course resources to better decide their career/college. Educational consultants advise on student and faculty retention, recruiting, fundraising and other areas that need improvement. Consultants also help institutions improve their reputation among students and/or staff. Educational consultants have a great amount of experience and can help any student shortlist the best college suited to the student’s interests. They can give you a detailed explanation about the different courses one may be interested in and inform you about admission fees as well as the procedures one would need to go through to be admitted. Educational counsellors can also assist you in improving your communication and interpersonal skills.
